2004 "Before the Heat"
Two years ago we started a new event. "Before the Heat" came about as an idea for a last chance to fly in central Florida before if gets really hot!! This year someone said, "you should call this, brave the heat"!!!.
It was a bit hot and we did have one huge thunderstorm on Friday afternoon, but we did make it,
and everyone had a super great time.
This casual get together at the Lake Wales, Florida Airport June 4th - 7th brought together mostly the "Florida Gang", along with one pilot who came all the way from California to celebrate his birthday. Non-Stop flying for two and a half days at a perfect site. Hundreds of flights from 7:30am until 7:30pm each day, and a bit of rain didn't dampen the sprits or the flying. We
all enjoyed a gentle breeze that keep the hot temps. pretty reasonable. All of the pilots did a great job, keeping this a very safe event.
Most of the turbine manufactures were well represented again this year. AMT, JetCat,
SimJet, RAM and Tiano's were all there, and very few problems were reported.
Just a remarkable performance by all who attended. Steve and I want to
thank everyone for their participation and generosity.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this years Eleventh Annual Florida International Jet Rally
November 5 - 7, 2004.
We must continue to
acknowledge and thank the management and staff of the Lake Wales Airport /
Florida Skydiving Center. Without their willing support the days we enjoy there
would not be possible.
Here are a few pictures from this years event.

"HQ" This is where we try to control everything from, and keep everyone out of trouble.

I suppose it's always a great time to relax !!!

Dee Miller about to take off with his BVM BobCat.

I guess he made it. He is getting pretty good with that BVM machine.

Our host has a very busy skydiving operation, and we go to great links
to keep everyone in t he proper airspace.

Above you can see the way to go at jet meets these days.
Or, you can go this way ?!?!?!

After he got his (borrowed) tent back together Wally did some pretty nice flying.
That's Dave DeWitt spotting for Wally. He's a pretty good "jet jock" too.

Bill and Diane having a great time with Jay spotting for them.
Bill and Diane are opening a new hobby store in the Stuart area in the next couple of weeks.

I guess she will need an instructor.
Any volunteers??????
